WORKPLACE INJURIES COVER A WIDE VARIETY OF INCIDENTS, INCLUDING

  • Repetitive strain (e.g., assembly line tasks)
  • Heavy lifting (e.g., moving equipment)
  • Sudden slips/falls
  • Direct impacts (e.g., being struck by heavy equipment)

Treatment may include the following

Education

Education plays a crucial role in pain management by empowering individuals with knowledge about their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

Ergonomics

Training in proper posture for optimal alignment of chairs, desks, computers, and work tools, and instruction on safe techniques for pushing, carrying, pulling, and lifting.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is used to promote healing, improve circulation, and reduce pain in targeted tissues. Effective for conditions like tendinitis and plantar fasciitis, it helps reduce inflammation, break down calcium deposits, and relieve pain after just a few sessions.

IMS/Dry Needling

IMS/dry needling involves inserting thin needles into muscle trigger points to relieve pain and improve function.

Ultrasound/TENS

Ultrasound and TENS to reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling, promote healing, and prevent scar tissue formation.

Manual Therapy

Soft tissue work and mobilizations for the spine and joints to restore movement and function.

Exercise Rehabilitation

Customized and gradual exercises aimed at safely transitioning back to work and daily activities, focusing on posture stability, core strength, balance, functional strength, and a home exercise program.

Before your first appointment

Have your WorkSafeBC claim number and personal health number ready, and let reception know at booking that you’re coming in on a WorkSafeBC claim so your visit can be set up correctly from the start.

What treatment costs

Questions about workplace injury treatment

The East Vancouver clinic, at 5334 Victoria Dr in Victoria-Fraserview, is the one taking appointments. The second Movement Room clinic at 2337 Main St in Mount Pleasant hasn’t opened yet, so it has no hours and takes no bookings. If Main Street is the location that suits you, the waitlist is how to hear when it opens, and East Vancouver can see you in the meantime.
