Registered Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy
Registered Physiotherapists are trained in assessing and treating injuries and movement dysfunctions. At Movement Room, our physiotherapists utilize a variety of treatment techniques such as manual therapy, corrective exercises, and education to get our clients back to doing what they love. We take a holistic approach, assessing the body as a whole to break compensatory strategies in order for you to move as efficiently as possible. Our goal is for longevity in health — we want to give you the tools you need to get rid of your pain once and for all.

Before your first appointment
Wear or bring clothing you can move in, so your physiotherapist can assess the area properly. If you’re coming in for an ICBC claim, have your claim number ready. If you’re using extended health benefits, bring your plan details so the clinic can check direct billing.
What physiotherapy costs
Pricing varies by service and can change, so the most reliable place to see current rates is the online booking page. What you actually pay depends on a few things: whether you’re booking privately or through a claim, whether it’s an initial assessment or a follow-up, and what your extended health plan covers.
If you’re being treated under an approved ICBC claim, there is no out-of-pocket cost for your covered visits. WorkSafeBC claims are handled through your case manager.

Questions about physiotherapy
The East Vancouver clinic, at 5334 Victoria Dr in Victoria-Fraserview, is the one taking appointments. The second Movement Room clinic at 2337 Main St in Mount Pleasant has not opened, so it has no hours and takes no bookings yet. If Main Street is the location that suits you, the waitlist is how to hear when it opens, and East Vancouver can see you in the meantime.
If nothing points one way, physiotherapy is the usual starting point, because the assessment is broad and ends with a recommendation rather than a treatment style chosen in advance. People who already know what has helped them before often book straight in with a chiropractor or a registered massage therapist. Kinesiology tends to come later, once the question has moved from settling symptoms to rebuilding load. Nobody is locked into the first choice.
Yes. The physiotherapists and registered massage therapists are registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. The chiropractors are registered with the College of Chiropractors of BC. The kinesiologists hold the practicing kinesiologist designation with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists. Each practitioner page on this site names the role that person holds.
Yes. Movement Room direct bills ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims, and direct bills Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life and Green Shield for extended health. Direct billing means the claim or the plan is invoiced for you rather than you paying at the desk and filing afterwards. Coverage limits are set by the insurer, not by the clinic, so what a file allows is confirmed before treatment starts.
Yes, and it is common. Someone can be seen by a physiotherapist and a massage therapist in the same week, or move from physiotherapy into active rehab with a kinesiologist as the work changes. Because everyone treats out of the same practice, the second practitioner can be brought up to date on what has already been assessed instead of starting from a blank page. Mention at reception that you are already a patient here and the appointment is set up that way.
