Did you know…
That you are entitled to treatment regardless of who is at fault of the accident? Also, the costs associated with the required treatments are likely covered by ICBC under their Enhanced Care program! You may experience pain right away, but in some cases, pain onset can occur even after a week following the accident. Despite the onset, early intervention is the key to a successful and efficient road to recovery.
What’s the first step?
Upon the time you report your accident to ICBC, they will provide you with a claim number. Simply provide us with this number and date of accident, and we can get you started with treatment! A doctor’s note is not required (at least for the first 12 weeks after the date of accident) – however, it may be a good idea to ensure that your family doctor knows of your status throughout the treatment.
What services are you covered for?
Under ICBC’s Enhanced Care Benefits, you have early access to treatment to meet your rehabilitation needs. Early access treatments are available within the first 12 weeks of the crash. This includes the following recovery benefits:
-
- 25 Physiotherapy treatments
-
- 25 Chiropractic sessions
-
- 12 Kinesiology treatments
-
- 12 Registered Massage Therapy treatments
-
- 12 Counseling treatments
It is important to note that you may go see any treatment provider you wish! As there are many treatment providers out there, find one that is committed to your recovery and assisting in helping you return to doing the activities that you love!
If you are still symptomatic after the 12 week window (early access treatments), you may still be eligible for treatment. This varies heavily on a case-by-case basis. Feel free to contact us and provide us with your claim number and we will see what we can do!
